A Summer Idyl

by Helen M. Carpenter from "The Overland Monthly", 1894

A Summer Idyl

When bright sunbeams glance and play
The golden poppies nod and sway
Their silken petals by the way;
Closing nightly
Petals tightly
Sweet sleeping till the dawn of day.
